Unfortunately the weather Gods were not playing along in terms of getting good crowd attendance but the racing was as hot as ever as the field was fantastic. |
We lost Andre De Lange (ADL Roofing Toyota Run X) on Thursday due to an engine problem, but every class was full with everyone getting maximum points in each class on the day. |

Due to the usual top 5 reversal on finishing order from the last event the rest of the class needs to qualify. |
And this session although the rain had stopped the track was still damp – or a little than damp in some places. |
Class A: Hilton van Nieuwenhuizen (ASAP Peugeot 206) was on the top of the time sheets again and showed his form by doing a 1.27:2 in the wet, ahead of Mark du Toit (the rain master in the TAR Honda Civic) Who did a 1.28:5 and Pierre Lubbe (Harness co Audi A3) on a 1.30:8 The grid however saw Geoff Tugwell on pole position (VW Golf mk1) on pole with Pierre alongside and Hilton and Brett Garland (Jonnesway Tool traders Honda Civic) on the 2nd row. |

Race 1
|
[singlepic id=4505 w=320 h=240 float=center] |
The start went well and everyone seemed to get off the line alright. Brett, Hilton, got the front pretty quickly and left the rest of the field to fight it out. |
The position changes happened one after the other and in the end Brett got the lead and took the flag from Hilton and Pierre who finished in third place. |
In class B, the front row had Chad Ten Doeshate (TAR VW Golf mk 1) on pole with Ryan Quan-Chai (Leeson, Vees pipes, Spencers Honda Civic) alongside him and Kriel and Baloyi (TAR Honda Civic) on the 2nd row. The battle as always was intense and the times close, but Nic Martin (RDG Opel Kadett) just couldn’t be beaten and he had a faultless race – but Gerhard Henning in his wife’s car due to the wet/damp race that she prefers not to race in. was nearby but just could not get past. back in 3rd & 4th spot was Jaco Kriel (IDG Opel SuperBoss) along with Andre Calitz in his AC VW Golf. |

Class C’s grid had the pole sitter in the form of Marius Lotz (VW Golf mk 1) and James Fuller (New Age Tyre specialists) in 3rd as 2nd place driver didn’t arrive on the day, 4th was Lady racer Louise van der Walt (Car King Ford Fiesta) who after the fierce class C battle that we have seen all year took the honours for woman’s day from Marius Roberts (Tyre Shield Opel Kadett) and home in 3rd place was Morne Human (Action Ford, Ford Fiesta) after changing class to class C due to an engine change. |

Race 2
|
Class A – the grid saw the Opel SuperBoss of Chris Davison on pole with Geoff Tugwell (VW Golf mk 1) alongside him and Pierre in 3rd spot, lights on and off and they all got away well with a changeup happening throughout the class but Chris hanging onto first place, the safety car came out for a period of 2 laps to clear the class C carnage from the start. Chris hung onto the lead for a few laps, however Brett and Hilton again wasted no time getting to the front and resuming their battle from the first race. While Chris, Mark, Geoff and Pierre were battling hard and changing positions until the flag with Brett again taking the flag from Hilton and Chris took the final spot on the podium. |

Class B – And with the usual reversal pole went to Ryan Quan-Chai from Calitz and Kriel in third spot. Nic wasted very little time in getting to the front again and keeping his nose clean, and the battle resumed in the class and after the safety car period those who stayed out of trouble all faired well, while Ryan managed to hang on and finish up in 2nd place with new comer to the series Zane van Zyl (Frozen treats & bites VW Golf mk2) taking the final spot on the podium. |
Class C- Front row as all about the little Citroen of Jacques van der Zee with Marius Lotz in 2nd place, off the line there was some bumpers, mirrors and paint swapping and Lotz ended in the tyres and watching the race after being recovered by the tow in and after the safety car, racing was back under way. |

Roberts had got to the front with Human following him and the lady racer after being tangled up in some of the carnage finished up in 3rd spot. |
