This past Saturday saw the first round of the 2015 championship at Zwartkops Raceway. I managed to sneak in a practice session on Friday afternoon and the car felt great, so all that needed tweaking was the driver. Saturday morning and qualifying time… I managed 3rd in class which in SuperHatch meant 19th overall. By the time we adjust the grid per class it meant 25th. |

Race 1 and 25th on the grid, but 3rd in class and light on and off and I had a cracker of a start and by turn 2 I had gotten into 2nd in class and taken a few class B cars too. Robert caught up as I developed a small mis fire and him and I had a battle of note, until turn 4, last lap when he got past me… and I had to settle for 3rd.

Race 2, and the reverse grid meant top 5 get reversed, so no effect on my place as third stays third… I had another good start and managed to get to 2nd again by turn 2, but this time the mis was giving me uphill from the word go, we had to bump start the car too and as a result I dropped to fourth place, but not without a fight. All in all a good day at the office as I still managed to hold onto my 3rd place for the day and bagged some good points to start the season with.
